All organisations should monitor the condition of their important assets. Condition reflects the structural integrity of a component and can be used to identify and forecast maintenance and renewal requirements, reduce reactive works and reduce the risk and cost associated with asset failure.
To help you with this, we’ve provided a table that describes the different condition grades for a range of common component types. You can use the table to systematically and consistently assess the condition of your important assets and components. You can then use this information to plan for future replacement and decide how you will operate and maintain your assets.
The table covers eight elements that are graded on a scale of 1 to 5, which is widely adopted for building condition assessments. The table includes an estimate of life consumed given current condition which can be used to plan for replacement.
